Argos shoppers praise 'excellent' £25 blanket that costs just 1p per night to run

With the weather getting colder and energy bills still soaring, many of us have been looking for ways to keep warm without racking up the extra heating costs.

And to avoid relying on their central heating during the upcoming winter months, many Argos shoppers have been praising an electric blanket they say is an excellent alternative to switching on the heating.

The retailer's £25 Slumberdown Essential Warmth Underblanket will save you extra money on your energy bills this winter as it is said to cost just 1 per night to run, reports The Mirror.

Available in two sizes - small single (£20) and Small double (£25) - the energy-efficient blanket will keep you nice and cosy during the night with its three heat settings and quick heat up time that will have you warm in no time.

For even more convenience, it is machine washable and easily attaches with corner straps to a small double bed. For the energy-conscious users, it also features an auto-shut off for that extra peace of mind.

The energy-saving winter blanket has been a hit with shoppers who have given it glowing reviews and five stars in the Argos website, with many saying they feel cosy without turning on their heating.

One recent purchaser who said the £25 blanket is an "excellent alternative to putting the heating on," in their online review, added: "I'm really glad I purchased this because I'll never have to get in bed and feel cold sheets again."

They continued: "On the lowest setting it just takes the chill off and makes you feel nice and cosy. It doesn't cover the entire surface of the bed and I would like it to be slightly longer so that the control was higher up and fully under the pillow but it is on the side so I don't lie on it. The straps mean that it fits securely to the bed under the sheet and there is no movement."

A second shopper wrote: "So glad I’ve got this blanket! Used it a couple of times and even in the lowest setting it keeps me warm! Worth spending a couple of extra £’s on a decent blanket especially for when colder weather is back."

While a third said: "Had a cheeky test out the other night! Glorious! Will be a life saver if we have a chilly winter!"

The blanket also comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee, so if it breaks within that time, you'll be completely covered.

So, if you're after a money-saving hack that'll shed hundreds off your heating bill this winter, we'd pop one of these blankets in your basket right now whilst they're still available!
