Argos shoppers hail '1p per night' blanket that helps lower energy bills amid cost of living crisis

People across the UK are trying to find ways to save money on their shopping as well as how much they spend at home.

It comes amid the cost of living crisis which has seen bills rise for millions across the country.

And whilst people are cutting back on how much they spend, it seems that one blanket is on everyone's shopping lists - and best of all, it's cheap to run.

The 'Slumberdown Essential Warmth Underblanket - Small Double' is being hailed as a 'must have' with people saying that it has helped lower their energy bills.

Being sold on the Argos website, the product costs £25 however is said to be "affordable warmth" with it costing 1 pence per night to run. And with it heating up in jyst five minutes, it could help people stay warm with many wanting to keep the heating off.

The product description reads: "Keep your toes toasty with the Slumberdown Essentials electric blanket. It easily attaches with corner straps to a small double bed, and with three settings you can achieve the perfect temp for your cosy cocoon to curl up in.

"Conveniently, it's machine washable and has low energy consumption with auto shut off, giving you peace of mind."

As well as being easy to fit, it's also machine washable, has an overheating protection and comes with a two year warranty.

Boasting about its "low energy consumption" which is suitable for "all night use" reviewers have hailed it as a must-buy with it helping to keep their bills low.

One said: "I bought this electric blanket a few weeks ago to try and save on using the central heating so much because of the price of gas at the moment."

Another wrote: "Had a cheeky test out the other night! Glorious! Will be a life saver if we have a chilly winter!!"

"Bought it months ago to save money on electricity bills. Very satisfied with my purchase. My daughter and my son have bought one each. Value for money" said a third.
