On the Argos website, the full product description reads: "Remove excess moisture from your home with the Challenge mini dehumidifier. With a maximum water extraction of 300ml per day, you can easily protect small places."
Among the reviews, one shopper said: "I purchased this dehumidifier back in December and it works a treat! I keep it on all the time and it extracts about a cup of water every 24hours It’s very quiet and makes only a gentle humming noise which is like a white noise helping me fall asleep too! Very happy with this product!"
A second shopper said: "I bought 2 of these small dehumidifiers. They take a few hours to show any improvements but after that you could see how much water they were picking up. Small but mighty."
A third review read: "Although I use it in a larger room than it was advertised for, it works. I chose it because of the low noise level. I can listen to the radio or watch the television without noticeable distraction."
A fourth shopper said: "I have a problem with damp in a small room. Obviously you'll need to deal with mould that is already insitu with treatment products. To stop mould returning then this product will help massively. You can see how much water it is drawing out the air."
Shoppers can purchase the Challenge 0.5 Litre Mini Dehumidifier for £60 here. However, not all shoppers were convinced by the dehumidifier. One shopper said: "Bought this after reading reviews can say it was disappointing after being on for over an hour it made no difference."
A second shopper added: "Not effective in a smallish bedroom. Probably better for wardrobe, small caravan etc." Other retailers selling similar products that have also gained positive reviews include this Currys £40 dehumidifer, which is described as 'small, sleek, and effective'.
