Argos customers have been asked to stay vigilant following the emergence of a new email scam offering people free air fryers.
Fraudsters ask people to enter their details as part of a fake online survey, including their credit card information. People are targeted with the offer of a free Ninja Air Fryer if they participate in the survey.
Experts at secure card payments provider Dojo are aware of the scam and have shared advice on verifying the email's source. The email will not link back to the official Argos website, for instance.

Another tell-tale sign is that the currency on the phishing scam is listed in dollars, not euros. Fraudsters have also cleverly created a sense of urgency in the email by placing a timer on the offer, which puts people under pressure to send on their details.
Security experts advise people not to open up untrustworthy emails in their inbox. If someone accidentally clicks on a suspicious email link, they should notify their bank immediately.
An Argos spokesperson said: “We are aware of this phishing scam and are working hard to take these sites down. These emails are not from Argos, we advise customers to delete and report them to us. We work hard to protect our customers and encourage them to be mindful of this type of scam, which often use household brand names.
On background customers can report scams to us using the email address scams@sainsburys.co.uk. More information can be found here: Help & FAQs - How do I report a scam? (argos.co.uk)”
