Argos customers 'addicted' to cheap air fryer alternatives from just £60

With the rising cost of living taking its toll, many of us have turned to air fryers as a means of whipping up tasty, home-cooked dinners without having to leave the oven on for long periods of time. The energy-efficient appliance has been used to cook everything from KFC fakeaways to slap-up meals of steak and chips, but it looks like there's a new contender for its thrifty crown.

Much like air fryers, multi-cookers allow you to make all your favourite meals with ease, and are ideal for those looking to cut back on their energy bills. As a plus, they also have multiple functions, allowing home cooks to stew, steam, slow cook or braise all in one nifty pot.

The Ambiano Multi Cooker from Aldi proved to be a huge hit with customers, with its generous six-litre cooking capacity making it the perfect kitchen helper for rustling up big family dinners. Unfortunately, it currently remains out of stock, however, eagle-eyed shoppers have clocked a very well-received alternative at Argos.

The CleverChef 14-in-1 5L Digital Multi Cooker is currently available from Argos for £60 and is rated a stellar five out of five stars from 317 rave reviews. Made to cover more or less all of your cooking needs, this clever multi-cooker will be by your side whether you're making a batch of soup or baking a load of bread, with a total of 17 pre-set cooking functions.

Most importantly, the device uses 62% less energy than the average oven (2100W), helping keep cooking costs low, and can be used with just a couple of easy-as-pie clicks of a button.

One happy customer enthused: "I've had this a few weeks and so far it has been great. I’ve made curry, sausage casserole, beef stew, and veggie soup. Sometimes need to adjust the timing but saves on energy when compared to putting on a whole oven for two to three hours or the hob."

Another commented: "So far, I've cooked meatballs and a midweek roast. Both good. Steamed rather than roasted joint but still getting to grips with all the functions. It is cute to look at on my countertop and so far produces good meals. Looking forward to experimenting further."

A third applauded: "Addicted, don't use my oven anymore. I've made lots of tasty meals for my fam".
