Argentina has won the World Cup after beating France during a penalty shootout.
Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick during the final as he brought France back from behind on two occasions. The Paris Saint-Germain striker became the first footaller to do so since England's Geoff Hurst in 1966.
However despite scoring a penalty during the shoot out, and winning the World Cup Golden Boot, the 23-year-old was on the losing side as France was beaten by Lionel Messi's Argentina.

Following the win, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer told the BBC: "I've never seen anything like it. It was a pleasure to be here. I said it was written in the stars for the two biggest stars.
"Well done and thank you for entertaining us, it was unbelievable."
Mirror Online reports how the South Americans saw off France on penalties in what is possibly the greatest World Cup final of all-time.
Messi scored the opener as Argentina led 2-0 and were cruising before Kylian Mbappe's quick-fire double sent the game into extra-time. Messi put Argentina back in front in extra-time before Mbappe completed his hat-trick from the spot to take the game into penalties.
France missed two of their first three kicks, putting Argentina in the position of power and Gonzalo Montiel notched the historic kick.
It is the third time Argentina has won the World Cup. They previously won the competition in 1978 and 1986.
