Argentina has requested the arrest of Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi in connection with the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires. The Argentine Foreign Ministry announced that Interpol has issued a red notice for Vahidi's arrest over the bombing of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA), citing alleged aggravated murder and damages.

Following a federal court ruling that Hezbollah was responsible for the attack and had received directives and financing from Iran, Argentina's highest criminal court concluded that there was no room for an appeal. The 1994 bombing, which claimed the lives of 85 individuals and left around 300 injured, stands as the deadliest attack in Argentina's history.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman criticized the ruling as a baseless measure aimed at diverting the truth-seeking process. Meanwhile, Israel's Foreign Minister expressed gratitude towards Argentina for the arrest request, emphasizing the importance of holding those responsible for the attack on the Jewish community accountable.
