Are the Patriots looking at this WR prospect?

The New England Patriots’ Twitter account caught a screenshot of the team’s computer screens during the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. It appears as though the Patriots were looking at wide receiver prospects in the process of drafting Oregon corner Christian Gonzalez.

One of those prospects looks like North Carolina wide receiver Josh Downs. Thanks to a quick screenshot from CLNS Media’s Mike Kadlick, we can see a North Carolina end zone and what looks like a wide receiver.

Downs would be an interesting fit for New England. He recorded 94 catches for 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns last season for the Tar Heels. He averaged 10.9 yards per reception and could be the vertical deep threat the Patriots are looking for.

It will be interesting to see who the Patriots draft on Friday, as the second day of the draft is set to get underway. Maybe, just maybe, Downs will fall into their lap.
