Will the Indianapolis Colts be on the field today in Week 12 of the NFL schedule?
Following a Week 11 win over the New York Jets led by quarterback Anthony Richardson, the Colts will return home in Week 12 for a matchup with the Detroit Lions.
Now at 5-6 on the season, the Colts playoff hopes in the AFC are still alive, however, the outcome this week–whether it be a win or a loss–will carry a lot of weight in determining their playoff odds moving forward.
Building upon last week’s momentum won’t come easy against the red-hot Lions. This is arguably the most complete team in football, led by the NFL’s highest-scoring offense and not to be forgotten about is a defense that ranks fifth in scoring as well.
Any potential success for the Colts lies in the run game on both sides of the ball. They must find a way to contain David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, while the offense has to be able to lean on Jonathan Taylor and Richardson on the ground to avoid those dreaded predictable passing situations.
