As 15 celebrities have been confirmed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing line up, some may have noticed that three share a surname.

Tony, Jayde and Kaye all have the same surname – Adams. This may have left some viewers wondering whether there was any relation between the three stars. Eagle-eyed fans spotted this and took to social media, pointing out how unlikely it was to have three people with the same surname in a cast of 15.

One fan of the show tweeted : "Three people with the same surname Adams, what are the odds?!".

The trio have acknowledged this, even going as far as to joke that they are related, reports the Mirror. But fans will likely want to know whether there's any truth behind the matching surnames, so here's everything you need to know about Strictly Come Dancing's "Adams Family".

No, Tony, Jayde and Kaye Adams are not related, and the fact they all have the same surname is a complete coincidence.

When first joining the official line-up, comedian Jayde commented on the official BBC post saying: "Daddy?"

And recently, the Bristolian shared a picture taken with Kaye Adams, and jokingly captioned it: "Love a little family reunion with Strictly mummy Kaye Adams during my Edinburgh Fringe run. Can't wait to be reunited with daddy Tony Adams."

Her followers expressed their excitement about the "Adams family", saying they "couldn't wait" to see them "dancing their wee hearts out".

One follower said: "The Adams Family... Where have I heard that before?!"

Another added: "If you guys don't do a Halloween group dance to the Adams family then Strictly will have seriously dropped the glitter ball."

Strictly 'superfan' Jayde Adams is an award-winning stand-up comedian who has also appeared on TV shows like Good Omens and Alma's Not Normal.

She received a nominee for Best Newcomer at Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, and also received rave reviews for her Amazon Prime special Black Jumper.

Jayde is also a TV presenter, and has hosted Channel 4's Snackmasters and Radio 4 podcast Welcome to the Neighbourhood.

She also stars in the upcoming ITV2 sitcom Ruby Speaking, which she also co-created.

Tony Adams MBE is a former professional footballer who used to serve as captain for both Arsenal and the England team.

He boasts 66 caps for England, as well as 10 major trophy wins and four major tournament wins.

One of his many feats is leading England to the 1996 Euros final.

Tony also founded and is the president of Sporting Chance Clinic, a charity which helps athletes with mental health issues and addiction.

Kaye Adams is a broadcaster best known for being a panellist on ITV's Loose Women. She also hosts the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland, and previously appeared on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff.

She started her career as a political journalist, with one of her biggest scoops being an interview with then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Kaye also hosted discussion show Scottish Women for six years from 1993.
