Are reports pointing to this candidate being the next Jaguars head coach?

The Jacksonville Jaguars will bring back three candidates for a second round of interviews for their head coaching opening.

Over the coming days, the team will meet with Liam Coen, Patrick Graham, and Robert Saleh in-person.

While the reports and rumors that are out there around the Jaguars’ head coaching search aren’t the be-all-end-all when it comes to which direction the team is going to go. Coen, compared to Saleh and Graham, seems to be getting quite a bit more attention among reports.

In the most recent edition of Albert Breer’s Monday Morning Quarterback, in his ‘quick hits’ section, he took time to share what he was hearing about Coen.

“I’ve heard Buccaneers OC Liam Coen did well in his lone interview with the Jaguars,” said Breer. “He may or may not get that job. But my bet is even if he doesn’t get it, he’ll have momentum to land a job at this time next year with another good season.”

In addition to that, one senior NFL executive told Jaguars on Sports Illustrated that Coen was “outstanding” in his interview.

Contrast those reports to what we’ve heard about Saleh or Graham–which is very little–and it would appear that Coen may be the front-runner for this opening.

In his one season as the Tampa Bay offensive coordinator, the Bucs’ offense finished top-five in scoring and were the only offense in football to rank top-five in passing yards per game and rushing yards per game.
