Fortnite vaulted the Pump Shotgun all the way back in Chapter 3 Season 1. However, a brand new shotgun has appeared in the game evoking memories of the Pump.
Fortnite adds and removes weapons from the rotation constantly, just this week Epic Games removed the Heavy Sniper Rifle and introduced the Explosive Repeater Rifle, and two weeks back the Red Eye Assault Rifle was dropped in favour of the new MK Alpha Assault Rifle. And seemingly out of nowhere, this week players noticed a brand new Shotgun on the Fortnite map, which at first glance looks exactly like the Pump Shotgun (which hasn't been seen in over a year outside of some LTM's). However – despite sharing a model – it's not the Pump Shotgun like many thought, and is actually a new weapon called the Sharp Tooth Shotgun.
The Sharp Tooth Shotgun – unlike the Pump Shotgun – is best suited for mid-range fighting as opposed to the Pump Shogun's focus on close range encounters. That being said, it has a slightly worse fire rate of 0.68 as opposed to the pumps 0.7 as well as a worse reload time. However it makes up for it by having the range advantage.
Fortnite Sharp Tooth Shotgun stats
Thanks to the folks at Fortnite Wiki we already know the stats for each rarity level for the Sharp Tooth Shotgun. There is no Common variant of the Sharp Tooth Shotgun, so the stats for the Uncommon variant are as follows:
- DPS – 69.768
- Damage – 102.6
- Magazine Size – 4
- Fire Rate – 0.68
- Reload Time – 4.725s
- Structure Damage – 77
For the Rare variant of the Sharp Tooth Shotgun, the stats are as follows:
- DPS – 73.44
- Damage – 108
- Magazine Size – 4
- Fire Rate – 0.68
- Reload Time – 4.5s
- Structure Damage – 81
For the Epic variant of the Sharp Tooth Shotgun, the stats are as follows:
- DPS – 77.112
- Damage – 113.4
- Magazine Size – 4
- Fire Rate – 0.68
- Reload Time – 4.275s
- Structure Damage – 86
And finally, the stats for the Legendary variant of the Sharp Tooth Shotgun are as follows:

The Sharp Tooth Shotgun is a hitscan weapon that shoots out nine pellets at once, with the spread being reduced when you aim down sights with it. With good aim you have the chance to demolish an enemy with this weapon, but if you miss or fail to defeat an enemy the slow reload speed and fire rate may come back to bite you.
