Are 'Love Island USA' Stars Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans Still Dating?

Kaylor Martin, Aaron Evans on 'Love Island USA'.

Spoilers for all episodes of Love Island USA season 6 ahead. One of the biggest reality shows of the summer, Love Island USA, came to an end on Sunday, July 21, with an impressive feat. Not only was the show the most-watched reality series in the U.S. during its run—this season moving over to stream on Peacock—two of the couples remained together since day one. Long-lasting couples are a rarity on any dating show (even if it touts building genuine connections a la Love Is Blind), but Love Island presents a unique setup as the six-week-long season airs almost simultaneously as the production plays out. Meaning, viewers watch each couple's love story nearly exactly as it's happening.

In the case of Love Island USA season 6 standouts Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans, that meant following along with both some dramatic moments and a good amount of heartbreak. Now that the pair have re-entered the real world (and gotten the chance to see the full picture of their time together), many are wondering whether they're still going strong. Read on for everything we know about Kaylor and Aaron's relationship so far, both during and after Love Island USA.

22-year-old Kaylor and 26-year-old Aaron both arrived on the show as part of the original 12 cast members and paired up at the first-ever coupling. Although the girl from Connellsville, Pennsylvania, and the Brit (who previously won the first season of The Traitors UK) stayed loyal throughout the show, they were no match for Casa Amor when all of the couples were split into two villas and several new singles were brought in. (If that setup sounds familiar, it's because every subsequent dating show, like Perfect Match, now does some version of this.)

Kaylor and Aaron did not recouple with different people after the time away, but Kaylor was heartbroken when she learned that Aaron had kissed and shared a bed with new addition Daniela Ortiz-Rivera. Once Aaron returned from Casa Amor, Kaylor decided to remain single. Though the couple eventually got back together, many viewers felt that Aaron did not take full accountability for straying during Casa Amor, making Kaylor and Aaron one of the most controversial couples on the show. However, the pair stayed a couple until Day 30 (July 19), when they were eliminated from the Island in the final dumping before the season 6 finale. Kaylor and Aaron ended up leaving in fifth and sixth place, before the other day-one couple, Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, went on to win the whole thing.

Are Kaylor and Aaron still together after 'Love Island USA' season 6?

Nearly a month after leaving Love Island USA, Kaylor and Aaron's romance has ended. On August 14, the Islanders reunited to film the season 6 reunion, which aired on August 18. But fans didn't have to wait for the special to hear some major news; while entering the reunion's taping in N.Y.C., Kaylor was filmed telling fans waiting outside that she and Aaron “are done, we are not together.” While it was difficult to hear in the clip what she said over the cheers of some fans, she added that she was nervous ahead of the taping, saying she "knows that Aaron's not gonna be happy."

During the reunion itself, Kaylor and Aaron ended their time on season 6 with another explosive argument. When the conversation moved to the couple, Aaron started by admitting that he "straight up lied" to Kaylor, adding that he "put his hands down Daniela's pants." This was fresh news to Kaylor, who interrupted and asked why he hadn't confessed to this ahead of the reunion. She yelled at Aaron, "I’m tired of the fucking excuses. Take accountability and be a fucking man. I just saw you the last three fucking days in New York and you haven’t said that to me once ... I cannot believe I wasted my entire fucking summer on you, Aaron. I don’t want anything to do with you.”

In response, Aaron said that he "didn't have the balls at the end of the day" to tell her, explaining that he didn't want to "ruin" the time they spent together after returning from Fiji. "There wasn't a point where I felt like I could tell you," he said, adding that he eventually decided to wait until the reunion to admit the truth.

In the month between the reunion and the finale, Kaylor had been upfront about the challenges she and Aaron were facing as a couple. Speaking on "The Viall Files" podcast on July 24, per Us Weekly, Kaylor admitted that she did not know everything about what went down in the villa and called Aaron's behavior in Casa Amor "so disrespectful." At the time, she also said that she "definitely" had doubts about their relationship, but was willing to see where it could go.

“I’m 22, so I know that I have a lot of time to fall in love, break up, fall in love with another person, hook up with them, kiss a bunch of men, and I think that’s so valuable before you do settle down,” she said. “That’s why I’m like, ‘This is a huge risk that I’m taking with Aaron,’ but that’s okay. I’m 22-years-old [and] I’m allowed to take these risks.”

“It’s gonna show me what I do and don’t want in a relationship,” Kaylor added. “It could work out, but I’m 22 years old. The chances of that happening are very slim ... With Aaron, it’s definitely a huge, huge risk that I’m taking and I’m really freaking scared, but we’ll see what happens. I think everything happens for a reason.”

Meanwhile, during an appearance on the podcast "BFFs" posted August 1, Aaron said that he wanted to “make it work” with Kaylor and that he believed they would “be able to get through” their issues.

“I’m willing to work through it and I completely understand why Kaylor feels the that way she does. Her feelings are completely valid,” he added. “I understand why she’s got doubts, I understand why she’s got trust issues, I understand why all of America doesn’t like me because I don’t even like me, watching all the back, I hated watching [those] clips back. It was actually horrible, so I completely understand how and why she feels the way she does.”
