Are experts more surprised by Bengals or Browns performance in Week 1?

After the Cincinnati Bengals Week 1 loss there has been a lot of talk about how they looked outmatched against the Browns. “Good Morning Football” talked about whether they were more surprised by the Bengals’ struggles or by what the Browns showed they were capable of.

Jason McCourty wasn’t surprised by the Bengals’ slow start to the season, citing the fact that Joe Burrow missed all of their preseason games and hasn’t been able to practice much, remembering his Week 1 performance last season against the Pittsburgh Steelers after his appendectomy.

Another one of the hosts, Kyle Brandt said he was more surprised by the Bengals.

“I guess I’m just a little surprised it was that bad,” he said. “24-3, never a game, never competed, it was never like, ‘Oh here comes the run.’”

They all were concerned about Tee Higgins not having a catch and the offensive line struggling as much as they did against Myles Garrett, but were not overly worried since the Bengals turned it around after a poor start to the 2022 season as well.
