Ardrossan serious assault probe as man taken to hospital following street attack

A man was seriously assaulted in a North Ayrshire seaside town on Friday night.

Detectives are today continuing their investigations after the 43-year-old was attacked in Ardrossan.

The incident happened in Winton Street, near to the junction with Glasgow Street, around 10.15pm on Friday night.

The victim was taken to Kilmarnock's Crosshouse Hospital but later released following treatment.

Members of the public are being asked to come forward if they have any information about what happened.

An appeal has also gone out to motorists in the area at the time with dash-cam footage.

Detective Constable Lorna Kerr said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who has dash-cam footage of the area at the time, to contact police.

“Please call Saltcoats CID via 101, quoting reference 3856 of 25 November, 2022. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
