Indie rock icons Arctic Monkeys will perform their first show in Thailand as part of their Asia tour, at Bitec Hall, Bang Na-Trat Road, on Thursday at 6pm.

Presented by Very Company, the Arctic Monkeys Live In Bangkok concert will feature all-time hits including Do I Wanna Know?, R U Mine? and I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor, as well as songs from their critically acclaimed new album The Car.

Founded in Sheffield, England, in 2002, the rock band has released seven studio albums -- Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006), Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009), Suck It And See (2011), AM (2013), Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (2018) and The Car (2022). The first six albums debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart.

They began to gain popularity as they handed out CDs containing 18 demo tracks at various gigs. The group also gained quite the following on the social media platform MySpace and is now described as one of the first bands to come to the public's attention through the internet.

The band's wider international fame came with the success of their critically acclaimed fifth album AM. Following the end of their tour in 2014, the band entered an extended hiatus, during which time the individual members pursued solo careers.

Arctic Monkeys resurfaced in April 2018 with the loungey Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, a softer affair than their previous albums.

They released their seventh studio album, The Car, in October, preceded by singles There'd Better Be A Mirrorball, Body Paint and I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am.

The band consists of Alex Turner (vocals, guitar, piano), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O'Malley (backing vocals, bass) and Matt Helders (drums, vocals).

Most tickets to the show were sold out but a limited number are still available at 6,000 baht.
