School officials at Archbishop Shaw High School have sadly announced the passing of Hubert Gauthreaux, a former student of the Class of 2021, in the recent terror attack that took place in New Orleans. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the French Quarter, claiming the life of the 21-year-old.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the school expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Hubert Gauthreaux and called upon the Archbishop Shaw community to join in prayer for his soul, his grieving family and friends, as well as all those impacted by this senseless act of violence.

New Orleans City Council member Helena N. Moreno shared her experience of being with Gauthreaux's family as they desperately sought information about his whereabouts following the attack. Tragically, they received the devastating news of his passing later that same evening.
