The first details of Arcadia’s new stage at Glastonbury have been revealed — and it will host an incredible line-up.
Arcadia’s humongous spider stage design had become one of the defining icons of the Worthy Farm festival’s recent history, but it will make way for a brand new concept in 2019: Pangea.
Built from an old dock crane, the new structure will stand 50m tall and weigh 140 tonnes, featuring “a core of light, sound and energy [that] pulsates from its epicentre.”
Described as Arcadia’s “most ambitious engineering project to date”, the stage is set to “evolve over the next five years”, and will remain exclusive to Glastonbury.
No official images of the new area have been released, although images did appear on Twitter of the stage during construction.
Pangea’s line-up has also been confirmed, featuring the likes of Andy C, The Black Madonna, Carl Cox, Four Tet, Jamie Jones and Charlotte de Witte. The full programme can be found below.
Glastonbury festival runs from June 26-30 and will be headlined by the Killers, Stormzy, Kylie Minogue, The Cure and Janet Jackson.
