Arbroath goalkeeper Ali Adams wins goal of the month award ahead of Kyogo Furuhashi

Arbroath goalkeeper Ali Adams has been awarded the goal of the month award for December after his stunning strike against Raith Rovers.

The shot-stopper was brought on to play as striker during the fixture due to the Scottish Championship side having a lack of options.

And he produced a memorable moment with a strike from 35-yards out which began a comeback for Jim McIntyre's side in the game.

One of the players he pipped to the award was Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi who was nominated for his goal against Rangers in Brendan Rodgers' men's recent 2-1 victory at Parkhead.

The Japan international came third in the vote, with Dundee United's Dylan Easton finishing second after his finish against Raith Rovers.

Meanwhile, pundit Kenny Miller insists Luis Palma has been Celtic's signing of the season so far.

The Honduras international has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists for the Hoops since joining from Greek Side Arts in the summer window.

And Miller picked out Palma's "technical ability" as one of the reasons he has been a success in Glasgow.

Speaking on Clyde 1, he said: "I was actually racking my brain when we were talking about signings and what new signings for Celtic actually start games.

"Palma is the one. Bernardo has obviously come in during the last four games. I think he has been really, really good in the last four or five games, Bernardo.

"Is that enough to be in this type of conversation about the signing of the season? Probably not.

“But Palma absolutely does. His assists. His goals. In terms of a replacement for Jota, he is no Jota, but he is a different type of player. But his numbers are as equally as good.

“With Palma, that was a position that needed to be addressed when Jota left. It took him a little bit of time to nail that slot down, but since he has, what has he got seven goals, up there with assists as well.

"His performances have been very good. He just gives them something different on that side of the pitch than what Maeda does, with his pace and power.

"What Palma brings is that technical ability. That vision. Pass and creativity. Whilst still remaining a goal threat.”
