Arbel Yehud, a 28-year-old woman who was kidnapped along with her partner Ariel Cunio from their home in kibbutz Nir Oz, has been released by militants in southern Gaza. The release also included Gadi Moshe Mozes and Thai nationals Pongsak Thanna, Sathian Suwannakham, Watchara Sriaoun, Bannawat Saethao, and Surasak Lamnao.
Unfortunately, Cunio and his brother David, who were also kidnapped, remain in captivity. Tragically, Yehud's brother Dolev was killed on October 7, 2023.
It is worth noting that Yehud was not part of the 2023 ceasefire deal, which aimed to secure the release of all women and children held captive. Despite this, her release brings hope to her friends and family.

Described as a devoted aunt and a lover of horseback riding and skateboarding, Yehud and Cunio had even adopted a kitten named Dude before their abduction.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum revealed that Yehud's family has a long history in the kibbutz, spanning three generations. Yehud herself worked at the Center for Technology, Science, and Space at the Eshkol Regional Council, showcasing her passion for people and nature.
