Aqib Talib’s brother pleads guilty to murder, faces 37 years in prison

What started out as a youth football game in 2022 and turned into a shooting death has led to Yaqub Salik Talib, brother of former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib entering a guilty plea to a murder charge.

Yaqub Talib pleaded guilty to the shooting of Michael Hickmon in Texas last year. He agreed to a sentence of 37 years in prison and will be formally sentenced in August, a spokesperson for the Dallas County DA’s office told ESPN.

The sons of both Talib brothers played on one of the teams and Hickmon’s son played on the other in the youth football game.

Aqib Talib was a five-time Pro Bowl DB.
