A developer has secured planning permission to build a further 141 homes at a housing scheme in Gloucestershire.
Tewkesbury Borough Council has given Ashberry Homes the go-ahead for a second phase of development at Pirton Fields project in the village of Churchdown, located between Gloucester and Cheltenham.
The housebuilder, which is collaborating with sister brand Bellway on the venture, has already begun work on a first phase of 97 properties, with a total of 465 homes to be provided on land off Cheltenham Road East.
This latest planning approval will increase Ashberry Homes’ share of the site to 238 homes, with Bellway delivering the other 227 properties. A total of 163 homes across the joint scheme will be provided as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership.
Carly Maidment, sales manager for Ashberry Homes, said it had experienced “strong demand” for houses at Pirton Fields, which range from two-bedroom semi-detached to four-bedroom detached properties.
Ms Maidment added: “Our partnership with Bellway is also bringing millions of pounds of fresh investment into the public services used by the people of Churchdown. Together we are providing £2.7m for the construction of a new primary school and another £1.7m towards additional facilities for secondary education at Chosen Hill School.
“A further £765,000 is being provided to Tewkesbury Borough Council to fund improvements to transport infrastructure in the area.”
