Some fans then stepped in to compare Lottie to past reality stars Hopkins and Goody.

Lubna fired back: "I will not be tolerating anyone disrespecting me anymore. No one should have to tolerate any form of racism. I gave the individual concerned enough time to apologise and repent but instead my patience has been taken as a sign of weakness. Not any more!"

Mirror Online has contacted the BBC for comment.

Lottie Lion hit the headlines at the beginning of the series as it emerged she had allegedly made racist remarks towards fellow contestant Lubna Farhan in a WhatsApp group.

It was claimed that Lottie told Lubna to "shut up Gandi" and threatened to "f*** her up".

The BBC was reported as telling Lottie that her comments were "unacceptable".

Lion previously told the Press Association her comments were "taken out of context".

In a statement, the BBC said: "While this happened on a private messenger service once filming had concluded, the BBC nevertheless still expects the candidates to behave appropriately.

"The production company have looked into the issue and reported back, Lottie has been informed that her comments were wholly unacceptable and is in no doubt about our view on this."
