Apprentice bosses 'ban' contestant Amy Anzel from final after her Lord Sugar complaints

Contestant Amy Anzel has reportedly been banned from attending The Apprentice's final celebration after she complained about Lord Sugar's tweets about her.

Friends of Amy - who is the oldest ever contestant at 48 - have said that she was shocked by the firing in week six as she had put herself up for a project manager role in the second week, which had been edited out.

Pals claim that Amy was further upset by some negative tweets that Lord Sugar posted about her, and that she later brought them to the attention of production bosses at Naked TV, which makes The Apprentice with the BBC.

However, her friend claimed that the Zoom call she had with production left her feeling "humiliated".

Among the tweets Lord Sugar posted about Amy included: "Amy didn’t sell she was so slow. Slower than broadband Wi-Fi in Cornwall.”

The pal told The Sun : "When Lord Sugar posted his tweets, she thought they were nasty, hurtful and insulting and told them so in an email.

Harry, Navid and Amy are all believed to be appearing in the final episode to help finalists Kathryn Burn, 29, and Harpreet Kaur, 30, battle it out in the final.

The pair will attempt to prove that their individual business plans are worthy of Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment and subsequently join The Apprentice hall of fame and become the 17th winner.

*The Apprentice final airs Thursday at 9pm on BBC One
