Nominations are open for a new community council in Clydesdale.
Coalburn locals can stand for election for Coalburn Community Council which has been approved following a valid petition.
Those who wish to represent their community can complete the nomination form which is available here.
Anyone who is on the register of electors for the Coalburn area of the community council who wishes to a part of the council should lodge a completed, signed nomination form which should also be countersigned by a proposer or seconder – both of whom should be on the electors for the area of this community council.
The boundary map is available to check if you are eligible.
Nomination forms will also be available from Administration and Legal Services as well as the boundary map of the Coalburn Community Council area and the scheme for establishment of community councils.
If more nominations are received than vacancies, an election will be arranged and held at a future date, notification of any election will be provided in the due course.
Once the form has been completed it should be emailed to communitycouncils@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or posted to Finance and Corporate Resources, Administration and Legal Services, Council Offices, Floor 2, Almada Street, Hamilton ML3 0AA no later than 4pm on Monday 25 July 2022.
