Apple iPad rival launches tablet costing £190 less than their cheapest model

Apple iPad are incredibly popular across Scotland, with most having one in their household or at least knowing someone who does.

However, the tablet may be facing some tough competition following the launch of the Pad X8. Chinese firm HONOR is taking aim at Apple with the release of their new piece of technology.

And shoppers may be keen on the technological newbie with a price tag of just £179 at Amazon or Argos - less than half the price of Apple's entry-level iPad which would set you back £369

The HONOR Pad X8 is a 10.1 inch full HD tablet with TUV Rhineland Certification to protect users' eyes.

The tablet is said to be able to cater to all needs, whether it be for work or just leisurely use. With a 5100mAh large battery to provide long battery life usage and memory that adapts from 4GB all the way to 64GB storage capacity, the Pad X8 vows to deliver speedy performance and a smooth user experience.

The tablet also provides users with concert-like acoustics and SmartPA sound effect to make it an enjoyable audio experience for all - whether it is clear sound in Zoom calls or a night in with Netflix.

And for the busy people out there, the tablet uses Smart View to allow three apps to run on the same screen. Multi-tasking? No problem.

Other general features include:

  • Built-in speaker.
  • Wi-Fi enabled.
  • Bluetooth - enabling you to easily and wirelessly connect with other Bluetooth enabled devices.
  • Built-in microphone.
  • USB-C connection.

You can purchase the HONOR Pad X8 for £179.99 from Argos and on Amazon.
