Apple net worth as tech giants interested in purchasing Man Utd from the Glazers

Technology company Apple have hit the headlines after registering their interest in buying Manchester United after the Red Devils were put up for sale by the Glazers.

Founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, the California based organisation has become the world’s largest company by revenue and are now looking to use their eye-watering wealth to propose a potential takeover bid at Old Trafford.

Mirror Football tells you all you need to know about Apple’s net worth, including how much revenue they make and how their wealth compares to that of the Glazers and other potential bidders looking to become the new owners of the Red Devils.

What is Apple’s net worth?

According to Macrotrends, Apple’s net worth stands at an unimaginable $2.389trillion (£1.973trillion) as of November 23, 2022.

Back in January, Forbes revealed that Apple had become the first company worth $3trillion (£2.473trillion), although the demand for iPhone sales and other products has since eased to take that number slightly lower.

Even though Manchester United are one of the most expensive clubs in the world, Apple’s reported £5.8billion deal to take over at Old Trafford would barely even dent their current finances and puts them in a strong position to get things over the line.

What is Apple’s revenue?

Apple are by a country mile the largest technology company on the planet and boast an annual revenue of almost £400bn, with their products being sold all over the world.

Although they were originally founded 46-years-ago, Apple has only seen their tech grow to seismic proportions since the turn of the 21st century. In that time, they have become the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer

This has helped to generate huge profits that have reached $394bn (£325bn) in 2022 alone - a 7.79% increase from 2021.

Net worth comparisons

While Apple’s net worth stands at £1.973trillion, the Glazers are worth nowhere near that amount, although are still one of the wealthiest families in the world. According to Forbes in 2015, their net worth stood at $4.7bn (£3.9bn).

In the seven years since, that number will have fluctuated, although Joel Glazer, Avram Glazer and Bryan Glazer are all thought to be worth $1bn (£824m) each in the present day.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is valued at £10.7m, has also been linked, although it is expected that American parties will be the favourites to take over. The Premier League are unlikely to be less keen on Saudi Arabian investors due to complications with Saudi money, while Chinese investors have seen their interest in top flight clubs disappear in recent years.
