Apple Introduces Presto System For Automated Iphone Updates In Stores

Supreme Court of the united states.

Apple has introduced a new automated system called Presto, aimed at streamlining the process of updating new iPhones in-store. This innovative system is designed to enhance the customer experience by efficiently updating iPhones without the need to open the box.

Presto operates as a locker, resembling a toaster in appearance, with each tray capable of holding up to six iPhones at a time. Powered by a Mac mini, the system automates the update process by powering up the iPhone, initiating the software update, and then powering it down, all while the device remains in its sealed box.

According to reports, Presto not only updates the iPhones but also manages inventory effectively. It provides real-time information to store staff regarding which devices require updating, based on daily sales records and stock levels. The system intelligently selects iPhones for updating based on sales forecasts, ensuring that the right devices are processed efficiently.

In the event of a new software update release, Presto automatically flags all iPhones in stock for updating, ensuring that every device is up to date. The system features an LED indicator that changes from white to green once an iPhone has been successfully updated, allowing staff members to identify and move the device to the updated stock.

This collaborative approach ensures that all team members are informed about the status of each device, promoting a seamless workflow within the store. Apple's implementation of the Presto system exemplifies their commitment to enhancing the customer experience through innovative solutions that go above and beyond traditional practices.
