Apple has announced one of their popular items will be discontinued. The tech giant confirmed yesterday (May 10) the iPod will no longer be sold.
The retro item has been on the market for more than 20 years. Greg Joswiak, Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing, said the iPod music player had "redefined how music was discovered".
"Music has always been part of our core at Apple, and bringing it to hundreds of millions of users in the way iPod did impacted more than just the music industry - it also redefined how music is discovered, listened to, and shared," Mr Joswiak added.

"Today, the spirit of iPod lives on. The first version was released on October 23, 2001, about eight months after the Macintosh version of iTunes was released, reports BirminghamLive.
In 2017, Apple removed the iPod Nano and Shuffle from its stores, marking the end of Apple producing standalone music players.
