Jalen Hurts added another accolade to his stunning list of accomplishments as he earned his master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma on Friday night.
Dr. David Surratt, the vice president of student affairs and dean of students at Oklahoma, tweeted a video congratulating Hurts on receiving his diploma during the university’s commencement exercise on Friday.
“Congratulations! 👏🏽👏🏽🎓💯 @JalenHurts @UofOklahoma @OUArtsSciences @OU_Football,” Surratt tweeted.
Hurts notching another milestone comes after the 2022 Pro Bowler and the Eagles reached an agreement on his five-year contract extension worth $255 million in April. He is slated to earn $179.3 million in guarantees and his extension includes a no-trade clause.
Prior to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson earning his record-setting deal, Hurts held the distinction of being the highest paid player in NFL history. Last season, the 24-year-old led the Eagles to an appearance in Super Bowl LVII against the Chiefs. However, Philadelphia lost to Kansas City, 38–35, in the battle for the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Hurts also finished second in the 2022 NFL MVP voting, losing to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He threw for 3,701 passing yards and 22 touchdowns while registering 760 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns in 15 games during the ’22 campaign.
Congratulations to @JalenHurts on receiving his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma 👏
