Police in Ayrshire are appealing for information after a man was reported missing from a coastal town in the north of the peninsula.

Mark McClung was last seen sometime early in the afternoon of Friday March 30, in the area of Princess Street in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire. He was reported missing on Sunday.

Police say the 30-year-old is around 5ft 9ins tall. When last seen, he was wearing a grey zipper fleece, black jogging bottoms, white Nike trainers and a baseball cap.

Officers say he is known to frequent both North and East Ayrshire. They have issued an image of Mark as part of their appeal.

A Police Scotland statement read: "We are asking anyone who has seen or heard from Mark to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 2562 of Sunday, 2 July 2023."

On Wednesday evening, police confirmed that Mark had been traced. A statement issued on social media read: "We can confirm that Mark McClung, reported missing from Ardrossan, has been traced safe and well. Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal."
