The family described what happened as "the worst possible news nobody wants to get" as the town immediately showed their sympathy and support to the young woman.
Over €58,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe to help her and her family at this difficult time.
Chloe, who spent a period of time in ICU, still has a long journey ahead to fully recover from the incident so the community has organised something special to help her during the rehabilitation process.
The newly created Facebook page ‘ Chloe Murphy Fundraising Events ’ has announced a big charity event in aid of Chloe will take place in just two weeks.
The Chloe Murphy Benefit Night will take place on Friday February 3 at the Pier Head restaurant.
Tickets - which must be purchased in advance and are limited - are available for €50 euros and will include a two-course meal, music and dancing.
Also, the event will be sponsored by the Pier Head, meaning that all proceeds will be donated to the Chloe Murphy fund.
The Facebook page explained: “We cannot thank Mike Burke of the Pier Head enough for his sponsorship of this event.
“Mike has very kindly sponsored the meal and music meaning every cent we make on ticket sales goes directly to the benefit fund. An extremely kind and generous offer, many thanks Mike.”
Also, the restaurant said to be “delighted” to help as they encourage more people to share the initiative.
Pier Head commented on social media: “We are delighted to sponsor this fantastic event for local girl Chloe Murphy. Please support as every cent of the ticket price will go to the fund.
“Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited. Feel free to contact me on messenger and I’ll help you out. Please share this post. Thank you.”
