Apex Legends has been wildly popular since day one, but the latest seasonal update is taking things to another level. No, this isn’t a joke about any high-flying ability swap bugs, either.
According to SteamDB, Apex Legends set a concurrent player record of 511,676 on Aug. 10, 2022. It’s an astonishing boost, especially when compared with prior milestones. SteamCharts puts the previous peak at around 400,000 players. So nobody can deny that Respawn’s battle royale still has plenty of life left — despite what pundits might suggest. We’re only about halfway through Season 14’s launch week, too, meaning numbers might shoot up further by the weekend.
These stats don’t account for everyone playing via the PC Origin launcher, either. Or folks on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch — those platforms are undoubtedly seeing similar concurrent player jumps.
Considering all the hype around Apex Legends Season 14, this development isn’t terribly surprising. There are loads of welcoming additions between Vantage’s introduction and balance adjustments to weapons like the G7 Scout, charge rifle, Spitfire, and EVA-8. The same goes for the Kings Canyon redesign and level cap increase.
Aside from some patching issues and the aforementioned tactical skill glitches, this update has largely gone off without a hitch. Fans are hyped beyond belief, anyway.
