It’s been a few months since Apex Legends got another playable hero. Thankfully, a new frigid era begins next month.
On Monday, Electronic Arts (EA) and Respawn announced that Apex Legends: Hunted, better known as Season 14, will release on Aug. 9, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’ll increase the level cap, add another battle pass, rework Kings Canyon, and introduce Vantage — the newest hero.
As is often the case with new heroes, Respawn gave Vantage an extravagant CGI cutscene. The footage shows that she has spent many moons on the barren ice planet Págos. There, Vantage learned the keys to survival from her wrongfully-convicted criminal mother. A natural survivalist sharpshooter, Vantage now sets her sights on the Apex Games.
Check out the trailer for yourself below.
The only rule Mara's mother ever gave her was to survive. In the ruins of the G.D.S. Vantage, that's a hard rule to follow. pic.twitter.com/g26snUODJo

There’s also a high-quality YouTube mirror available here. It’s worth watching just to see how far the animated shorts have come in Apex Legends. EA and Respawn claim that we’ll learn more about Season 14 in the coming weeks.
Back in March, Vantage was one of several heroes we first heard about by way of that massive Apex Legends leak. The prior fresh face, Newcastle, was also part of that.
