Anutin wants household cannabis registration via app

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Tuesday he would like small cannabis growers to be able to conveniently register via an app.

Initial registration would be via the app and then officials would inspect the grower's garden, he said.

"We do not want it to be difficult for people," Mr Anutin said.

Mr Anutin led members of his Bhumjaithai Party in submitting a bill on use of cannabis and hemp to the parliament last week. The move followed the Narcotics Control Board's resolution to legalise the use of cannabis and hemp.

Regarding household use of cannabis, Mr Anutin said the bill allowed the use of parts of the cannabis plant, including as food and beverage ingredients.

The bill restricted the use of cannabis and hemp extracts. As long as households had nothing to do with the extract, they would have freedom to use the plants, he said.

"The bill is aimed at allowing Thai people to benefit from cannabis," Mr Anutin said.
