Anurag Kashyap reveals Sanjay Leela Bhansali 'hated' Abhay Deol starrer Dev D; says he accused him of ruining Chandramukhi and Paro

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Devdas', Anurag Kashyap released 'Dev D' starring Abhay Deol in the lead. In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that Bhansali hated his adaptation of 'Devdas'.

Anurag revealed that Bhansali hated it. He even accused him of ruining Chandramukhi and Paro. The filmmaker clarified that Bhansali didn't say all this to him but to Vikramaditya Motwane who was his assistant and co-writer in Dev D.

Kashyap also went on to shower praise on the 'Padmaavat' director. According to him, he is a genius when it comes to music and choreography. He also added that Bhansali has now also discovered violence. The way he has shown violence in Gangubai Kathiyawadi, Kashyap told Bhansali that he has come out of his limitations.

Anurag further spoke about how he had once written a piece about Black for a magazine that had left Sanjay upset. According to him, he didn't believe it and so he wrote about it. It actually upset Bhansali a lot. That writing was not supposed to be for publication as that was personal to him. However, all is well with them now. They are friends again.

Anurag's film, 'Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat' released on February 3. It featured Alaya F and debutant Karan Mehta in lead roles.
