Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to Ajax to sign winger Antony.
Erik ten Hag is keen to reunite with the tricky winger as he looks to add attacking reinforcements with Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial set to leave the club. It's one of many players the incoming United boss has worked with that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford with Jurrien Timber and Frenkie de Jong also on the Dutchman's radar.
Meanwhile, UOL claims that Liverpool have also entered the race for the youngster who excelled under Ten Hag at the Amsterdam Arena this season. It's reported that both sides have made a concrete approach 'in recent weeks'. Newcastle are also said to have entered the equation.
Antony's preference would be to join either United or Liverpool as he looks set to snub the Magpies. Ten Hag admitted that Antony's departure this summer would be a huge blow for Ajax as they don't have anyone to replace him in his position.
The Brazilian plays on the right-wing and is a nightmare to defend against when he cuts in on his left foot. "If Antony were to go, it would be a loss for Ajax," Ten Hag told De Telegraaf on Monday. "You have no-one in the current squad who can take over his position. He is top class."
Speaking about Anthony's impact on the Ajax team earlier this month, Ten Hag heaped praise on the exciting forward. He said: "Without Antony it is all a bit less fast and dynamic on the right, which also makes it more difficult for the team. Then the spaces become a lot smaller."

Former Man Utd midfielder Daley Blind has suggested Antony could leave Ajax this summer but reckons they won't let one of their best players go on the cheap as they look to strengthen the current squad for their Champions League campaign next season.
Speaking with Andy van der Meijde, he said: "A few players are already leaving on a free transfer, so I don't think Ajax will let players go that easily. You have to have a team next year that will compete again in the Champions League and for the title.
"If the main price is paid for Haller or Antony, then Ajax will accept it, but I don't think Ajax wants to sell many players. I hope most of them just stay."
