Antonio Conte told to make big Tottenham decision over Nottingham Forest favourite

Tottenham Hotspur supporters are urging head coach Antonio Conte to hand a debut to former Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence in place of starting right wing-back Emerson Royal.

Spence has made just a single appearance for Spurs since signing this summer, coming on in injury-time against the Reds on his City Ground return last month. His Brazil international rival on the right-hand side has started all eight matches so far this season but was culpable for both late goals against Sporting during Tottenham's 2-0 defeat in Lisbon last night.

Spurs supporters now seem to have had enough and are calling for change from Conte. Here is a selection of the social media reaction discussing Spence's place in the side.

Reece: Conte needs to put his pride aside and play Djed Spence.

Noz Ahmed: I refuse to believe Djed Spence isn’t ready to play in this team but Emerson Royal is

James: I watched Djed Spence play six times last year, twice against Premier League teams and he was the best player on the pitch... I know for a fact he’s better than Emerson Royal...

PME: There's no way on this planet that Spence is worse than Emerson.

Pee: Imagine being Djed Spence right now, sat on the bench having to watch Royal as the manager's first choice. I’ve seen more than enough of Spence over the last year to recognise he’s a better all-round player.

Are you surprised that Spence hasn't started more this season? Have your say in the comments...
