Antonio Conte provided a rather blunt celebration to Rodrigo Bentancur's winner as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-2 in a Saturday afternoon thriller.
An awful start from Spurs saw them go a goal behind through Kieffer Moore's effort, before the Welshman doubled Bournemouth's advantage just after half-time. The first 55 minutes were arguably the worst Tottenham have played all season, having created barely any chances and looking disjointed out of possession.
However, the game turned on its head as soon as Ryan Sessegnon pulled one back for Spurs in the 57th minute. Conte also made a couple of changes, with Bentancur and Ivan Perisic coming on - and it worked a treat as they levelled when Ben Davies struck his first goal of the campaign.
It was all Spurs during the final quarter of an hour and they managed to find the winner in injury-time through Bentancur, who snuck in to fire home, sparking delirium in the away end. In response to the Uruguayan's strike, Conte barely celebrated and decided to storm down the tunnel instead.
Perhaps Spurs' performance throughout the first hour is the main reason why Conte chose not to celebrate, with the Italian not even cracking a smile as he witnessed Bentancur strike his second of the season and secure all three points. Conte's backroom staff all stood up and cheered, while the Tottenham boss wasn't having any of it and missed the final four minutes as he went into the away changing room instead.
Usually, Conte cuts an animated figure on the touchline and would have normally celebrated a last-gasp winner in exuberant fashion. But the Spurs boss did not seem happy with his side's overall display despite sparking a remarkable comeback. He did, however, come back out of the tunnel following the final whistle to applaud the travelling fans.
What did you make of Antonio Conte's celebration? Let us know in the comments below!
In his post-match interview, Conte told Sky Sports: "It was vital to win this game, because in the last two Premier League games we've got zero points, and for us, it was very important to win. On Tuesday, we're going to play an important game [vs Marseille] with passion, and this type of win can help us to have more confidence and to trust ourselves."
"We were two-nil down and I think we showed great character, and at the same time, we need to improve the quality in our play, our passes, and to attack with nastiness. I think we were a bit soft in the first-half and we conceded the first goal.
"For the second goal, we could've avoided this type of situation, but it was a good reaction from the players. Sometimes they lose confidence, they don't believe in themselves and we need to fight in every game."
