Antonio Conte sends Tottenham scouts ahead of Chelsea transfer hijack for Borussia Dortmund star

Although with an initial glance Tottenham scoring 39 times in 22 games appears a very decent attacking return, Antonio Conte knows that it is very important Spurs add quality depth to their forward department in the next two transfer windows.

While it may seem as though Harry Kane is the main source of the goals, and he arguably is with 13, Spurs have actually had ten different goal scorers this season with several defenders contributing to a selection of the goals.

The recent injuries to Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Son Heung-Min, has however exposed the lack of quality depth Conte has at his disposal in attack with Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil not at the level of the aforementioned trio.

After having seen what the Italian would have to contend with if the injuries plagued the forward line again, Spurs are set to enter the January market with an attacker at the very top of their list.

While Conte has repeatedly stressed the importance of signing players at their peak, as opposed to the Spurs model of previous seasons where signing prospects was high on the agenda, he could somewhat go back on his word for a teenage striking sensation.

Borussia Dortmund starlet Yousouffa Moukoko has scored six goals in Bundesliga this season alongside notching four assists which has seen him called up Germany's World Cup squad and according to 90min, Spurs sent scouts to watch the young forward in Dortmund's 4-2 defeat against Borrusia Monchengladbach.

Understandably other top European clubs are interested in Moukoko and following his ridiculous displays at youth level where he once scored 37 goals in 25 games for the Under-17 side at Dortmund despite qualifying for the Under-13 side still it's easy to see why.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are also in the race for the signature of the German international, according to a Fichajes report and both clubs may have the opportunity to take a closer look at him if he features significantly at the World Cup.

Moukoko was not the only recipient of attention for Spurs in the Dortmund Monchengladbach fixture though as the report also states that Marcus Thuram of Monchengladbach was also closely watched.

The Frenchman, who was a late addition to Didier Deschamps World Cup squad, scored his sides third goal after running from his own half before winning a battle of wits against Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel to slide the ball into an empty net.
