Conte's undroppables
There might only be four spots up for grabs when Spurs play Southampton on the opening day of the Premier League season in just over two weeks time.
The Italian has had his squad boosted by six summer signings already and also has a healthy amount of competition for places as he continues to search for additions to his squad. With players bought in across the pitch, football.london has a list of the seven players that are almost certain to start when the new season gets underway as three defensive positions remain open.
Depay responds
Despite Tottenham being the club most interested in securing Memphis Depay's signature this summer, the Barcelona forward has reportedly told the club he doesn't want to join Conte in London next season.
Spanish outlet Sport are reporting that Spurs attempted to use their negotiations for Clement Lenglet to also secure Depay on a cut-price deal. The Dutch forward wasn't keen on the move though he has kept an open mind to other offers which is a kick in the teeth for Conte who had hoped to pick up the former Manchester United man for as cheap as £20m.
Gill's future decided
Tottenham's eagerness to bring players into the club has seen them laden with too many senior players and trying to move bodies on is now the main goal for the rest of the window.
This has put pressure on transfer chief Fabio Paratici. Conte is about to be rid of one player shortly though as Bryan Gil is set to take a second loan away from the club, says the Mirror. The Italian chief was in his home country recently and finalised a deal with Sampdoria to take the 21-year-old winger on a temporary move next season.
Gil spent the second part of last season at Valencia and faces a stiffer task to impress Conte this year due to the arrival of Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic.
