Antonio Conte has praised Gio van Bronckhorst 's exploits as Rangers boss after a narrow pre-season friendly win for Tottenham.
Lethal Harry Kane proved to be the difference between the two sides with the England captain in top form as he turned the entertaining Ibrox clash in favour of the Londoners. Antonio Colak had put Rangers in front as the Croat netted his first goal for the club, but two sublime finishes from Spurs' talismanic captain meant the English Premier League outfit claimed the Walter Tull Memorial Cup.
However, Tottenham boss Conte was keen to give their hosts significant praise after a battling performance in front of a packed Ibrox crowd. The Premier League and Serie A winning boss singled out his rival gaffer for praise, admitting the Dutchman has masterminded a stern test for his side. Speaking after the game, the Italian manager said: "Rangers is a really good team.
"Two seasons ago they won the league and last season they reached the final of the Europa League. When you reach the final in this competition it means you have a really good team and a really good coach.
"They are working very well and I also saw the game against West Ham and West Ham are a really good team in England. They won 3-1.
"For us it was a really good test because I think in this moment they are more ready to start the league. We have two weeks to try to find the peak fitness to start the Premier League.
"Today I'm happy because there are friendly games and friendly games. In friendly games you improve when you face an important team and in the difficulty you understand which is your position and the work you are doing. Today was a game like this."
