Antonio Conte provides Tottenham injury news ahead of Marseille as Lucas Moura decision made

Antonio Conte has given an update on Tottenham's injuries ahead of their Champions League clash against Marseille. Spurs face the first of their six group games in N17 on Tuesday and there is some good news in terms of who is available.

The Lilywhites' 2-1 win against Fulham saw the Italian made five changes from the previous clash against West Ham including the return of both Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero. Oliver Skipp has also now returned to the matchday squad, a further boost for Spurs.

Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura were the two who missed out on the most recent game, meaning there was only one further attacking option to the three who started. Ahead of the first European game of the season, Conte gave an update on team news.

"Moura is not available, not still available. I think tomorrow he starts to have a training session on the pitch," he said. "He has this inflammation in his tendon and I hope to recover him very soon because especially up front we need him."

As the 53-year-old alludes to, the Brazilian is someone Tottenham could do with, as an option in the front three. Moura has struggled with consistency and didn't get regular game time last season.

However, he is someone who has previously shown the impact he can have in European games. Moura is a player who always brings pace and energy to a game, whether he is starting or coming off the bench.

With the amount of fixtures Spurs have coming up, he is also a good player who can rotate into the squad, giving another attacker a much needed rest. The good news is that the rest of the team seem to be fit and ready to play, but it will be a bit longer before fans see Moura in action again.
