Antonio Conte offers positive Richarlison World Cup news despite Tottenham injury in Everton win

Antonio Conte has confirmed that Richarlison's World Cup dream is not over. The Brazilian picked up a calf injury in Tottenham's 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday and he was in tears after the final whistle.

Many thought that the injury would keep the forward out of the tournament, with the World Cup in Qatar just a month away, but Conte has revealed that is not the case. It's unknown how long the 25-year-old will be out for, but the Spurs head coach says he will be available for the greatest show in football.

"No, absolutely not," said Conte when asked if Richarlison would miss the World Cup. "I can confirm this. The player is not risking to miss the World Cup. Absolutely not."

The forward will definitely miss Tottenham's trip to Manchester United on Wednesday evening, however. Richarlison is set to go for an MRI scan on his calf injury, and Spurs will then be able to put a timeframe on how long he is out for, but he won't be available for selection in the mouth-watering clash against Erik ten Hag's side at Old Trafford.

"The injury about Richarlison, he is doing a scan, an MRI and then we'll see how long he needs to recover. For sure against United he is not available," added Conte.
