Antonio Conte hailed the atmosphere at Old Trafford before claiming Manchester United would struggle without the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Tottenham boss saw his side lost 3-2 in the north west after twice coming from behind to level the game. Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick including a late winner as the hosts kept their top four hopes alive.
Old Trafford, by no means renowned for its intimidating atmosphere, was cited as a major factor by Conte during an exchange with Ralf Rangnick. The Italian conceded it was "difficult" for his side to play amid the noise.
Rangnick claimed: "This is what Antonio Conte said after the game, it was a very difficult atmosphere. As I said, it's one of the biggest compliments that you can get if an opponent's coach speaks after the game of a difficult atmosphere for them, a special atmosphere."
The win saw United take hold of fourth momentarily before Arsenal seized back the initiative 24 hours later. Ronaldo returned in the summer following 12 years away with Real Madrid and Juventus.
Some have cited his presence as having a negative affect due to the team altering their playing style but also because of his personality, which has led to rumours of infighting. Conte slammed United as something of a one-man team after their win, insisting they would've lost had they not had the 37-year-old in their ranks.

"You are talking about a player who is always decisive and has been in his career," Conte said of Ronaldo to BBC Sport. "Tonight he showed what type of player he is. Without Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United it would have been difficult not just to win but also to draw the game."
Ronaldo has now scored 18 times this term - nine more than his closest teammate. The Portuguese's star exploits saw him become the FIFA all-time top goalscorer.
Paul Pogba hailed his colleague and his historic feat, stating: “We know Cristiano Ronaldo and what he can do. He did what he does best. He’s a record-breaker, that is his motivation. He wants to be number one and be the best and he shows it in the game and training always.”
The defeat for Tottenham leaves them six points off north London rivals Arsenal, who currently look in pole position to qualify for the Champions League. Conte presided over an impressive start when he arrived but the Italian has now seen his side lose five of their last eight.
That includes defeat at the likes of Burnley whilst they were also dumped out of the FA Cup by second tier side Middlesbrough.
