Antonio Conte has confirmed that Rodrigo Bentancur will miss Saturday's trip to Leeds United after sustaining an ankle injury in Tottenham's 1-0 defeat at Burnley.
Partnering Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the midfield two at Turf Moor, the Uruguayan went to ground inside the first ten minutes after slipping on the wet surface.
Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill had sent the Spurs man the wrong way with a sharp turn and it culminated in Bentancur slipping awkwardly and almost doing the splits.
Managing to carry on until half-time, Conte replaced his player at the break with Harry Winks to man to come on in his place.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's game away at Leeds United, Conte issued an update on the 24-year-old.
"Unfortunately he’s not available for tomorrow’s game because he had a problem in his ankle," he explained.
"I don’t think this is a serious problem. And I hope to see him in the team very soon but for sure tomorrow he’s not available."
Bentancur won't be the only Tottenham player missing at Elland Road as Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga remain out.
"He’s another problem. I hope the medical department can help me. Skipp now is one month that he’s missing," he said on his midfielder.
"It’s the same for Tanganga and I don’t want to put pressure on the medical department but for sure they have to help me try to solve the situation."
