Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has issued positive news over the injuries Ben Davies and Rodrigo Bentancur sustained at the World Cup. The Wales defender suffered an injury to his oblique muscle, which is located in the abdominal area, during his country's defeat against England, while Bentancur sustained a small tear to his adductor muscle in his right leg when playing in Uruguay's final group game against Ghana.
Confirming that Davies has now recovered from his injury ahead of the Premier League resuming on Boxing Day, Conte has also admitted that Bentancur, who is suspended for the trip to Brentford, should be good to face Aston Villa on New Year's Day. Richarlison, on the other hand, picked up a hamstring injury in the warm-up prior to Brazil's quarter-final defeat against Croatia.
Playing 84 minutes of the contest before he was withdrawn, the summer signing was back at Hotspur Way last Monday to have the issue checked out. Ahead of Wednesday's friendly vs Nice, Conte has confirmed that his player is going to have an MRI scan so they can discover the extent of the injury.

"Ben Davies is okay and started to work with us last week. He has recovered," the Italian told SPURSPLAY. "Rodrigo has started to work. I think that he’s going to be good for the game against Aston Villa.
"For Richy, tomorrow he’s going to have an MRI (scan) to know very well the importance of the injury. After tomorrow we will see very well the time he needs to recover."
