Antonio Conte has Harry Kane North London Derby concern vs Arsenal with Man City clash looming

Sunday, January 15, 2023 could prove to be a momentous day in the career of Tottenham superstar Harry Kane. Heading into Sunday's North London Derby clash against Arsenal one goal behind Jimmy Greaves' all-time Spurs record of 266 goals, Kane not only has the chance to equal the tally but he could possibly surpass it as well.

Now on 265 goals for Tottenham following his wonderful winner in last Saturday's FA Cup third round win against Portsmouth, many are expecting the 29-year-old to write his name into the history books this weekend going on his red-hot form since the World Cup. Despite suffering the lowest moment of his career after his penalty miss in England's quarter-final defeat against France, the striker has bounced back with four goals in his last four games.

As well as that, Kane loves a goal against Tottenham's most fierce rivals and he is indeed the all-time record goalscorer in the North London Derby. The academy graduate would love nothing more than to achieve the record against Arsenal but his main priority on Sunday will be ensuring that Spurs beat their opponents and boost their top-four chances in the process.

There is one thing Kane must also do for Antonio Conte in the game and that is avoid a yellow card. On four bookings for the season in the Premier League, the striker is one caution away from receiving a one-match suspension.

As confirmed by the FA in their 'Information for Players on Disciplinary Procedures' 2022-23 season guide at the beginning of the campaign, any player who accumulates five bookings before the cut-off point of 19 matches will have to serve an automatic one-match ban. Tottenham have played 18 Premier League games so far this season, meaning the North London Derby is the last possible game for Kane to pick up a one-match suspension.

If he does unfortunately receive a yellow against Arsenal then it will give Conte an almighty headache as his main man will have to sit out next Thursday's Premier League game away at Man City. A pivotal figure in their dramatic 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium last February, the head coach certainly needs his striker available for the game with Tottenham in a real battle to secure another top-four finish.

If Kane can avoid a caution in the North London Derby the next time he would receive a possible ban for yellow cards is if he accumulates ten in Premier League matches up to and including Spurs' 32nd fixture. That would lead to a two-match suspension rather than just the one match.

It's a huge weekend for Tottenham's No.10 and all eyes are going to be on him in the Arsenal encounter. As much as Tottenham fans will have their fingers crossed that he surpasses Greaves' record, everyone will also be praying that he avoids the yellow card that would rule him out of the trip to Man City.
