Antonio Conte believes Tottenham have invested the “right money” this summer after an ambitious recruitment drive.

Djed Spence became Spurs’ sixth summer signing earlier this week, following Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet into the club.

Conte consistently called for improvement during his first few months in charge and has cashed in on the assurances both Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici granted him at the end of last season.

“When you go into the transfer market you try not to waste money but, up until now, I think we invested the right money,” he told reporters during the club’s tour of Korea.

“People have been surprised by the timing but when the vision is clear I feel confident. Fabio is helping a lot in this situation.

“Then I go to train and try to improve the team and the squad. We are working very well but it is important to know we need patience.

“We have just started this path and other teams are signing important players and spending a lot of money.”

Spurs are still interested in a move for a creative player should the right deal present itself during what remains of the window, although attention has turned to shifting the club’s deadwood.

Paratici is currently in Italy for talks with AC Milan over a potential move for Japhet Tanganga and Sampdoria in regards to Bryan Gil.

Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks are also up for sale ahead of Conte’s first full season in charge.
