Antonio Conte gives Tottenham injury update for Brighton amid 'worried' Oliver Skipp admission

Antonio Conte says that he does not know when Oliver Skipp will return to action for Tottenham. Last featuring for the team in the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea back in January, the midfielder has missed out over the past two months due to a groin issue.

The head coach admitted last week that he is "really worried" about his player following his longer absence than expected. Skipp's spell in the Spurs treatment room has subsequently left Conte with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Harry Winks and Harvey White as his only midfield options at such a crucial time in the season.

Clearly wanting such a key player to return to fitness as soon as possible, Conte will once again have to do without him when Spurs travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening. Skipp won't be the only player absent, however, as Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga remain out.

“No news, no news, the same players available for the game against Brighton. The same players who were available with United. No news,” said Conte on injury news during his pre-match press conference.

When asked by football.london for an update on Skipp, he added: "Also this question I can’t answer! Sorry but it’s not because I’m not polite. Skipp’s situation is the first time this situation with a player happened in my management. I don’t know, I don’t know.

"For sure we need him but at the moment no-one has tried to tell me the moment when he’s ready. Also for the player because at the moment he’s really frustrated. He’s really young, he’s a really good guy. To be injured, I’m especially disappointed and frustrated for him for this situation."
